Imphal: The All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) and the Communist Party of India (CPI), Imphal East District, jointly staged a sit-in protest at Khurai Sajor Leikai, demanding an end to the ongoing conflict in Manipur.

The protest was held under the banner “Save Manipur, Save Humanity”, with participants raising concerns over the continuing violence, security situation and hardships faced by internally displaced persons (IDPs).

AMNM president Sanjenbam Sorojini questioned the government's response to the continued presence of camps, the alleged reduction in the number of camps and the movement of armed cadres amid the prevailing situation in the state.

The protesters outlined five key demands, calling for an immediate end to violence and killings, protection of Manipur’s territorial integrity and rejection of what they described as divisive governance.

They also demanded improved living conditions and adequate support for internally displaced persons who continue to face hardships due to the conflict.

The fifth demand called for the resignation of a government that, according to the protesters, had failed to protect people's lives.

Through the sit-in, AMNM and CPI, Imphal East District, urged the authorities to address the concerns raised by the demonstrators and take steps towards ending the conflict and restoring peace in Manipur.
