Imphal, October 29, 2026: The CID (Security) of Manipur Police organised a blood donation camp under the theme “Unity in Veins” at its office complex in Imphal on Thursday, in connection with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) and the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The camp was organised in association with the Blood Centre of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) and the Indian Red Cross Society, with support from the State Blood Transfusion Council (SBTC), Manipur.

A total of 52 volunteers participated in the camp, including 49 police personnel who donated blood as part of the initiative.

Volunteers from the Indian Red Cross Society also conducted an awareness programme highlighting the importance and benefits of voluntary blood donation.

The programme aimed to encourage voluntary blood donation and promote awareness of its role in supporting patients requiring blood transfusions.

The initiative formed part of the observance of National Unity Day, celebrated annually on October 31 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose contribution to national integration is remembered across the country.
