Imphal, October 30, 2026: The Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur, has issued a traffic advisory outlining special road regulations and possible diversions in Imphal ahead of the mass rally organised by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) on October 31.

The rally is scheduled to proceed from Tiddim Ground to Thau Ground. The advisory aims to regulate vehicular movement, manage parking and ensure the smooth and safe movement of traffic during the event.

Rally Route Announced

According to the advisory, the anticipated rally route will be:

Tiddim Ground → Ningthemkhul U-Turn → Kwakeithel → Keishampat → Wahengbam Leikai → Thongkha → Nagamapal → Khuyathong → Thau Ground.

Road Regulations During the Rally

To facilitate the rally, the northern side of the road from Ningthemkhul to Keishampat and the western side of the road from Keishampat to Thau Ground will be reserved for rally participants.

The southern and eastern sides of the respective road stretches will remain available for public commuters as temporary two-way roads.

Traffic police have also stated that heavy vehicles will not be permitted to use these temporary two-way road stretches during the period of traffic restrictions.

Possible Traffic Diversions

Traffic personnel will be deployed at various locations to regulate movement, monitor congestion and manage diversions wherever necessary.

Depending on traffic volume and prevailing road conditions, diversions may be introduced at the following locations:

FCI, Sangaiprou Crossing

Kwakeithel Traffic Island

Keishampat Junction

Nityapat Chuthek Junction

Keishamthong Junction

Watham Leirak Crossing

Wahengbam Leikai Junction

Uripok Flyover (Western Side)

RIMS Crossing Island

Khuyathong

LIC Crossing

Tera Crossing

The approach road on the eastern side of Tiddim Ground and the western-side road leading towards Ningthemkhul Traffic Island will be kept free from roadside parking and other obstructions.

The arrangement is particularly important for vehicles travelling from Kwakeithel towards Imphal International Airport, which may need to take a U-turn at Ningthemkhul Traffic Island when the rally ground takes a U-turn there.

Commuters Advised to Plan Journeys

The Traffic Control Police Wing has advised road users to plan their journeys accordingly, allow additional travel time and use alternative routes wherever possible to avoid congestion along the affected roads.

The advisory was issued by Superintendent of Police (Traffic Control Police Wing), Manipur, Chiphanga Cecelia Sobemla, MPS.
