Manipur’s Kangjam Birendra Singh Receives ‘Iron Man of Asia Lawyers Football – 2027’ Title in Bali

BALI, INDONESIA: Kangjam Birendra Singh, representing India at the Captains’ General Assembly 2026 of the Corporate Sports Organisation (CSO), Paris, France, has been conferred the title of ‘Iron Man of Asia Lawyers Football – 2027’ in recognition of his participation and contribution to lawyers’ football.

The General Assembly was held at Prime Plaza Suites, Sanur, Bali, Indonesia, from October 30 to November 1, 2026, with representatives from several Asian countries taking part. Two representatives from each selected country were invited by the organisation. India was represented by Kangjam Birendra Singh and Dr. Kiran Yendrembam.

As part of the gathering, a friendly football match was organised on October 31, with Birendra Singh leading the Indian Football Team as its captain.

Following the match, he was felicitated with the title and presented with a Gold Member Memento at a ceremony held at Prime Plaza Suites.

Recognition Brings Pride to Manipur

Dr. Kiran Yendrembam, General Secretary-cum-Team Manager of AMBA-FC, who also attended the assembly, expressed happiness over Birendra Singh’s recognition.

He said the honour received by Birendra Singh, who hails from Manipur, was a matter of pride, particularly as it recognised his participation on an international platform alongside football players from across Asia.

Yendrembam also expressed confidence that the conferment of the Gold Member Card would encourage more Indian lawyers to participate in international lawyers’ football tournaments.

Asia Lawyers Tournament Scheduled for April 2027

Meanwhile, CSO has invited participants to the 7th edition of the Asia Lawyers Tournament, scheduled to take place from April 21 to 25, 2027. According to CSO representative Thibault Pagnier, more than 80 teams from across Asia are expected to participate.

During the General Assembly, Kui-Sung, captain representing Korea, was appointed as the tournament’s Ambassador. Marco Chandra Silaen, associated with the Indonesia Lawyer Football Club and Bali United FC, was also honoured with the title of ‘True Mundiavocat’ and presented with a memento for his contributions.

AMBA-FC members expressed pride over Birendra Singh’s achievement, saying the international recognition has brought further honour to Manipur and Indian lawyers’ football.
