Chapter 1 — When a Stranger Entered My Life
I don't remember the exact date. Perhaps it was May or June. Some dates become difficult to remember as the years pass, but certain moments never really leave our minds.
At that time, I was living with my uncle. Life was moving normally, and I had no idea that someone was about to enter my life and eventually become such an important part of my story.
One day, my uncle told me that someone was arriving and that we needed to go to the airport to pick her up.
I didn't think much about it. I simply got ready and went with my uncle.
We reached the airport and began waiting. I knew someone was coming, but I didn't really know her. I didn't know what she looked like, what kind of person she was, or what role she would eventually play in my life.
We waited for around thirty minutes to an hour.
Then, among the people arriving, I finally saw her.
She was walking with her father, carrying a bag in her hand. That was the first time our paths crossed.
I went towards them, took her bag, and we headed towards the cab.
It was an ordinary arrival, nothing extraordinary. Yet, looking back today, I realise that some of the biggest chapters of our lives begin with the smallest moments.
After reaching the apartment, everything was still new for both of us. We were unfamiliar with each other. We didn't know much about one another, and our conversations were limited to simple introductions.
Where are you from? How did you get here? Why are you here?
Just ordinary questions between two people who had only recently met.
I didn't know her favourite things. I didn't know what made her smile or what made her upset. I didn't know about her dreams, her fears, or the little things that would later become so familiar to me.
I only knew that she was someone who had just arrived.
As time passed, we slowly started talking. Sometimes she needed something, and she would call me. We exchanged our phone numbers, and gradually, our conversations became more familiar.
Whenever she needed help, I tried to be there for her. Since I had already been living there and knew the surroundings better, I could help her with many small things.
Those little interactions slowly became the beginning of something neither of us could have predicted.
At that time, I had no idea what the future held for us.
I didn't know that the girl I had gone to receive at the airport would eventually teach me so much about love, care, understanding and life itself.
I didn't know that one day, I would look back at these ordinary moments and wish I could experience them once again.
But every story has a beginning.
And ours began with a simple journey to an airport, a stranger carrying a bag, and two people who had absolutely no idea what was waiting ahead of them.
That was the day she entered my life.
