EC orders poll officers out of home districts in Manipur and four other states
Officers serving in their home district, or who complete three years in a district, must be moved before the 2027 Assembly polls.

Manipur is one of five states covered by the Election Commission's October 27 direction on officers linked to elections. The others are Goa, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Officers who are posted in their home district, or who have completed three years in a district during the last four years, must be transferred out. The cut-off date for Manipur, Goa, Punjab and Uttarakhand is March 31, 2027, and for Uttar Pradesh it is May 31, 2027.
District Election Officers, Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and specified police officers also cannot continue in the constituency or district where they served during the last Assembly election. Manipur's Assembly term ends in March 2027.
